Writing Effective Proposals

Writing proposals is for many artists the least exciting part of the exhibition process – but it is also one of the most important. This workshop shows the ‘Do’s’ and ‘Don’ts’ of proposal writing, and how to use succinct language to get your ideas across. Practical tips about supplying images, statements and documents are covered, as well as talking about what galleries are looking for during the application process.

Designing your exhibition

This workshop looks at the planning-to-installation stages for your exhibition.  Guiding you through tips, tricks and practical tools, we will cover many common queries experienced by artists when installing their work, and cover important factors that can take your installation from standard to exceptional.

Expanded Drawing - Through The ARt Room

EXPANDED DRAWING develops technical skills gained in prior courses; perfect for those who possess confidence in their drawing abilities and are eager to elevate their drawing practice and embrace challenges.

Over 7 weeks you’ll explore both historical and contemporary artists throughout the course, be encouraged to develop your research skills, plus cultivate creative habits that will build an autonomous practice.  The overarching goal is to empower you to discover your unique artistic voice, within project-based exercises, emphasising the importance of self-expression and individuality within the field of expanded drawing.

To get the most from this class, students must possess an open-minded attitude, an enthusiasm for unconventional approaches, and a willingness to do things differently!

Introduction to Sculpture - Through Victorian artist society

This short course will cover the basics when it comes to making artwork in 3D. Designed to be fun and experimental, we will be exploring various techniques and materials suitable for small sculpture. Ideal for beginners or for those with an existing art practice who are looking to delve into the realm of 3D. Materials provided.
